By the end of 2008 Terence will have shot over eighty broadcast hours of High Definition prime-time television drama in this year alone, the equivalent of forty two-hour movies, quite a record!

He currently alternates between the two major French television series. 'Seconde Chance' a new series on TF1 is based at the SFP Studios just outside Paris and 'Plus Belle la Vie', the longest running and highest rated French serial drama, is based in Marseilles. The shows are broadcast daily and the shooting schedules are extremely heavy filming eighteen to twenty scripted minutes per day. The sets are huge and spread across four stages at each of the studios. In Marseilles, for instance, the main stage houses a street with a square and lanes off it surrounded by four story buildings, a bar, hotel offices, shop and houses.

For this particular type of production, Terence has developed a lighting technique and style that combines speed in setting-up with classic lighting and freedom of movements for the actors. So many television dramas imitate the American often over-lit and flat TV lighting but Terence systematically, on every series he works on, brings back contrast, shade and modelling into the 'look' of the series.

'Genie in the House' series 2 (2007)

Now based at the BBC Elstree studios.

25th June, started lighting.

29th June, began shooting.

The kids are a year and a half older but still look great and are as enthusiastic as ever. This year the BBC Elstree studios were chosen offering us more space and a great lighting rig. We have the living room, Philip's den, kitchen, bedroom, landing, large lawn, drive and exterior house all as permanent sets plus plenty of room for swing sets (a variety of changing sets relevant to each story) and an special effects and chromakey area. Its also fun to be surrounded by Eastenders and Holby City and to have lunch next to characters that you think you know so well but have actually never met.

Living it (2006)

15 part BBC Television drama series produced by Mentorn. Filmed with a single Digi-Beta camera on location in Watford and Elstree, we shot two episodes per week, between nine and ten minutes per day.
